Recommendations for After Sauna
Water is essential: Electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium, chloride) support cellular hydration and muscle function.
Electrolytes tablets (Nuun, Liquid IV), coconut water or pinch of sea salt + lemon + honey for a more natural option.
Replenish Minerals: Magnesium & Potassium
Magnesium aid in muscle relaxation, sleep, and recovery. Can be found in magnesium glycinate or citrate supplements, leafy greens and pumpkin seeds.
Potassium helps with fluid balance. Bananas, potatoes, avocados, and spinach.
Eat a light nutritious meal, prioritizing protein and complex carbs.
Grilled chicken + quinoa + greens, smoothie with protein powder, berries + oats.
Skin care: moisturize and protect your skin using products rich in hydration. Look for products that have natural oils, ceramides, added antioxidants, like vitamin E and C.
Avoid Strenuous Activities: focus on gentle and relaxing activities. If you do a sauna in the evening, you might find a particularly restful night’s rest.
