Recommendations for After Sauna

  • Water is essential: Electrolytes (sodium, potassium, magnesium, chloride) support cellular hydration and muscle function.

    • Electrolytes tablets (Nuun, Liquid IV), coconut water or pinch of sea salt + lemon + honey for a more natural option.

  • Replenish Minerals: Magnesium & Potassium

    • Magnesium aid in muscle relaxation, sleep, and recovery. Can be found in magnesium glycinate or citrate supplements, leafy greens and pumpkin seeds.

    • Potassium helps with fluid balance. Bananas, potatoes, avocados, and spinach.

  • Eat a light nutritious meal, prioritizing protein and complex carbs.

    • Grilled chicken + quinoa + greens, smoothie with protein powder, berries + oats.

  • Skin care: moisturize and protect your skin using products rich in hydration. Look for products that have natural oils, ceramides, added antioxidants, like vitamin E and C.

  • Avoid Strenuous Activities: focus on gentle and relaxing activities. If you do a sauna in the evening, you might find a particularly restful night’s rest.
